“The Nate Robinson Trio”
was formed in the summer of 2008, using all possible aspects of my background, with the idea of minimal personnel utilizing maximum musical avenues. Playing a bass drum with my right foot and a tempo keeping hi hat/ tambourine and cowbell rhythm with my left foot I strum the off beats and melodies on an acoustic guitar, while whistling out the horn lines on a harmonica. The guitar player, Dave Howes, (U of U graduate of Jazz Performance), offsets his wild guitar playing by chiming in with off beat reggae keyboards and counrtifying the sound with his mezmorising mandolin playing. All of this is layered upon the solid bass lines of seasoned reggae artist and current member/manager of Salt Lake’s finest Reggae sensation SARA B, Aaron Okura. Veterens of both the singer/songwriter and the corporate/wedding world this trio is able to manipulate the atmosphere to fit any event you might have.
